Hi John,

It’s just under a month until Together We Are Powerful, our special event on Saturday 28 March in London. We’ll be celebrating five decades of challenging injustice, getting up to speed on the key global issues of our time, and discussing how to build and strengthen the movement for a more equal world. Already more than 400 people have registered to attend – have you?

If you’ve been getting our emails for a while now, you’ve signed petitions and perhaps written to your MP, then why not take the next step and come along to this event?

It should be a great way to find out more about the most important global issues of today, discuss how we grow the movement for change, and meet others interested in the same things.

We’re really excited about the line-up of authors, activists and journalists from around the world who will be speaking at the event, and the great range of workshops, panels, stalls and films.

If you haven’t booked your free ticket yet, don’t delay.  And please do invite anyone else who you think might be interested.

If you’d like to know more about what to expect, here’s a taste of some of the sessions:

  • Climate justice: What should system change look like? with economist and author Ann Pettifor, Guardian journalist and author Felicity Lawrence, and director of Focus on the Global South in Thailand Shalmali Guttal.

  • Why we need to stop the US-UK trade deal, with trade campaigners from here and the United States, as well as Caroline Lucas MP.

  • Routes to a democratic economy with author, activist and editor of Red Pepper magazine Hilary Wainwright and French trade unionist and sociologist Christophe Aguiton.

Plus other sessions looking ahead to COP26, the UN climate talks in Glasgow at the end of the year, celebrating 25 years of the anti-globalisation movement, re-imagining UK aid and short films on frontline communities resisting corporate power.

Our closing session will look at the big picture of how we can transform our economic system and will include shadow treasury minister Clive Lewis MP and our director Nick Dearden.

And after that, join friends old and new for drinks, nibbles, some laid back music and relaxing chat at our anniversary party at Newspeak House, just a couple of minutes’ walk away (just turn up for this – no need to book).

Hope to see you there!
