WE NEED TO OPEN NEW EXPORT MARKETS FOR IOWA AGRICULTURE
President Biden has failed to enforce our trade laws, hold foreign countries accountable for their unfair trade practices, or open new export markets for American agriculture.
My colleague from Illinois, Rep. Darin LaHood, and I are working on the House Ways and Means Committee to stand up for our farmers.

Biden's Trade Policies Are a Disaster for American Farmers
Last month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture marked another disappointing development in the Biden administration's lackluster trade agenda.

SHOWING OUR THANKS TO IOWA POLICE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT
My District Director — Emily — met with Boone Police Chief John Wiebold earlier this week and hand delivered a letter of thanks that I wrote for our police and law enforcement officers in Iowa.
Our men and women in blue are real heroes who deserve our deepest appreciation for their service.

MEETING WITH DAVID STARK FROM UNITYPOINT HEALTH
On Tuesday, I met with David Stark — who is President and CEO of UnityPoint Health and is originally from Fort Dodge — about access to healthcare in rural communities.
Serving on the House Ways and Means Committee, I have repeatedly emphasized the need to protect rural hospitals and lower costs for our families.

HONORING THE LIFE OF FALLEN ALGONA POLICE OFFICER KEVIN CRAM
This week, I spoke on the House floor to honor the life of Algona Police Officer Kevin Cram — a husband, son, father, and 10-year veteran of Iowa law enforcement — who was senselessly murdered while doing his job.
My prayers remain with his family, the Algona police department, and the entire Algona community.

MY SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN ENERGY PRODUCTION
The Biden administration’s misguided energy policies jeopardize the reliability and affordability of electricity for American families.
We need an “all-of-the-above” American energy strategy that promotes dependability and protects our national security.

ONE LAST THING: IT'S NATIONAL 4-H WEEK!
My District Director, Emily, spotted this awesome bus and banner outside of Colo in Story County!
4-H is a great organization that underscores the importance of community and equips our kids with the skills and tools that they need to succeed in their careers and in life.
Happy 4-H week to 4-H’ers across Iowa!

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: PRESIDENT BIDEN'S TRADE AGENDA IS MISSING IN ACTION
President Biden has abandoned and punished our farmers on every front imaginable. His new WOTUS rule invites federal bureaucrats to saddle Iowa farmers with costly red tape, his electric vehicle mandates threaten the vitality of our biofuels industry, and his economic agenda jeopardizes longstanding provisions in the tax code to strengthen Iowa agriculture. Even worse, he has no interest in negotiating new trade agreements that would expand our export capacity or holding foreign countries – like Mexico and Brazil – accountable for their unfair trade practices.
Representing the second largest agriculture-producing district in the nation, I will continue to be a strong advocate for opening new markets for Iowa producers and negotiating beneficial trade agreements for the United States.
