Hi John,
It would be great if grocery stores lower your grocery bills, but you need to make sure Prime Minister Justin Trudeau doesn’t make the problem worse.
Trudeau is giving grocery store owners until Thanksgiving to come up with a plan to “stabilize prices.” If Trudeau doesn’t like their plan, then he may impose “tax measures.”
That means Trudeau is thinking about imposing a grocery tax. Even if he targets the stores, there’s a real risk the cost will filter down to you. Taxes don’t make anything cheaper.
And Thanksgiving is coming up so now’s the time to take a stand.

It’s one thing to point fingers at grocery stores for high prices. Taxpayers are still angry about the $12 million the federal government gave to Loblaws to buy fridges. It’s fair game to criticize big corporations.
But everyone knows another tax will just make groceries cost more. Even the prime minister knows it.
“The last thing we want to do is put on a tax that people then just pass along to the consumers,” said Trudeau just last year.

Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
All the best,
