The Fairfax Young Democrats want you to know that your vote in deciding the next Democratic presidential nominee matters and that Tuesday, March 3, is Democratic Party Presidential Primary Election day here in Virginia, along with 13 other Super Tuesday States.
Polls will be open at your usual voting location, from 6:00 am until 7:00 pm, Tomorrow (March 3). This is your opportunity to set the direction of the Democratic Party, and hopefully the nation for the next 4 years!
Don’t let someone else do it for you!
As a friendly reminder, Virginia does not register voters by party and the Presidential Primaries are open, which means that when you check-in at your polling place you’ll be asked whether you want to participate in the Democratic or Republican primary (or it’s sometimes phrased as which ballot you want) and that’s all you need to participate in the Democratic primary along with the usual voting ID and registration requirements. IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED VOTER, YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE PRIMARY, no party registration or affiliation is required in Virginia.
Lastly, there are two upcoming opportunities to hang out with the Fairfax Young Democrats. Watch the results being tabulated with other young democrats at our Super Tuesday Watch Party. The party kicks off as the polls close at 7:00 PM at the Ornery Beer Company (3950 University Drive, City of Fairfax). On Wednesday, March 4, we would also like to invite you to attend our monthly Fairfax Young Democrats Happy Hour, from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM, at Caboose Commons, located at 2918 Eskridge Rd. Fairfax, VA 22031. This is adjacent to the Mosaic District. Join fellow Young Democrats to discuss politics, the presidential primary, and just to relax and converse with fellow young professionals.
