HEAL Together Initiative

Dear John

By now, you’ve heard a lot about our HEAL Together initiative, an expanding movement in school districts across the United States that is being led by courageous individuals who want to safeguard honest, equitable, fully-funded public education.

We’re asking for your support in our efforts to provide training, resources, tools and strategies to organizers across the country who are fighting to preserve the gains of the civil rights movement. These organizers are teachers, school board members, parents, and students - not to mention community members like you and me.

“A great friend of mine once told me that often times we grow to become who we once needed. And, during my public school experience, I needed someone who would advocate for my peers and I.”

Myla Williams, speaking at Race Forward's Facing Race Conference, November 2022

As a student in southwest Atlanta, Myla has personal experience with the lack of resources and opportunities afforded to students in specific zip codes. As the Chief of Staff for the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition, a HEAL Together partner, she’s helped implement significant initiatives to give students access to everything from mental health resources to recreational partnerships.

Using HEAL Together tools and support, Myla and her peers are fighting for public schools that will provide all young people with the resources they need to thrive. And they’re winning - restoring millions of dollars in public education funding, securing representative maps, protecting LGBTQ+ youth, and so much more.

Your support is needed and important to help Myla and so many other HEAL Together partners like her. It is going to take all of us, together, to protect the most vulnerable among us and build a future where young people can access the promise of an equitable, quality public education for all.

Join us in making this vision a reality.

En solidaridad,

Marina Muñoz de Martínez

Director of Development & Partnerships
