John – at Emerge, we’re proud to recruit, train, and empower trailblazing Latinas to run for office and WIN at every level. Today, we’re continuing to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by introducing you to three incredible Emerge alums! Take a minute to meet them now.

Assemblywoman Selena Torres (Emerge NV) is a proud product of Nevada’s public education system. She’s an advocate for policies that put children and families first and ensure that our schools equip every child to achieve their American dream.
Councilmember Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez (Emerge CO) was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Having known the pain of displacement, she has dedicated her career to helping Colorado families through affordable housing, strong tenant protections, and major investments in behavioral health.
Representative Sharlett Mena (Emerge WA) is a first-generation Mexican American, who brings her experience as a community organizer to the fight for environmental justice, climate action, and policies that lift up Washington’s working families.
When we equip Latinas with the training and network they need to win, we can change the face of politics and ensure ALL our communities are seen, heard, and served at every level of our government. That’s why it’s so crucial to continue our work to achieve a truly inclusive government for the FIRST time in U.S. history! But we can’t do it without you, John.
We need your help to power our women-led movement to transform politics in every state and ramp up our programs to help MORE Democratic women succeed. So please:
Will you donate $5, $25, $50, or more today to help Emerge recruit, train, and empower MORE Latinas up and down the ballot in 2024 and beyond?
Thank you for being a part of our movement,
Brianna Carmen
Political Director, Emerge
