2020 "Sudden Death" Notebook Series Kicked Off in Mid-February

The 22nd edition of our highly-sought "Sudden Death: Are You Prepared" notebook series program launched February 12 with a full complement of attendees. The objective of this popular program is to help ensure that survivors are prepared to deal with the aftermath of a loved one's death, guiding attendees through the creation of a "Survivor Notebook" to help loved ones cope after the death of a spouse or key family member.
Conducted in three separate parts, the workshop walks participants through identifying what needs to be considered, assembling the material in an accessible format and developing an approach to maintaining the material so that it remains current. The result is a physical roadmap that will be of immeasurable value to survivors.
The workshop is delivered in two-hour sessions and is presented by a consortium of representatives from local organizations. In addition to our financial services partner (Raymond James & Associates), presenters from Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care and representatives from local legal services firms and funeral services firms address specific topics during the workshop sessions. The schedule calls for the sessions to be presented across a three-week period.
The next scheduled session for this 2020 workshop series is April 21, April 28, and May 5, and additional sessions are planned for later in the year. Keep an eye on the Foundation website's "Events" page and contact the Foundation office (888-750-2622) to register.

Who's Who in Social Security...Updating an Old Standard!

"Who's Who in Social Security" is a product of the AMAC Foundation, related specifically to the Foundation's mission of providing education and assistance on issues of critical importance to America's seniors and to promote a better understanding of the issues involved in resolving Social Security's long-term solvency predicament.
We anticipate increased emphasis on Social Security during this year's Presidential Election Campaign, and have opted to update this handbook as a resource for the general public, as well as officials, and their staffs involved in Social Security administration, policy making, and information dissemination.
"Who's Who in Social Security" identifies the key players involved in this crucial program. The handbook also provides a generous helping of background information on proposals under consideration, publications available on the subject, and a hierarchy of the governmental officials holding positions and assignments associated with Social Security. The publication is being made available to key officials and their staffs, as well as to many media outlets that regularly write about Social Security issues.
When initially published, the late Dan Weber, AMAC Foundation President, summed up its purpose with this statement, "The material contained in this guide will serve to help point you to the people integral to the creation of any form of solution, and will serve to bring you up-to-speed on the many proposed resolutions currently in play on this subject."
The handbook was first published in 2015 and will likely be updated again when the 117th Congress commences in January 2021. Electronic copies of the 2020 edition are available for download via the Foundation's website or by contacting the Foundation office at 1-888-750-2622. There's no charge for the download, although contributions to the non-profit Foundation are encouraged.
