Today, I have launched a new campaign calling on National Highways and our local councils to prioritise improvements to the A3 in Esher and Walton constituency and put an end to “through” traffic in local towns and villages.
Vehicle traffic from the A3 has been a long-standing problem for our community. The A3 in our constituency is used by an average of 70,000 vehicles per day.
Due to problems with the design of the A3 at the Hook underpass, much of this traffic ends up diverted through Esher, Hinchley Wood, and the Dittons.
Living locally in Esher with my family, I feel the impact of heavy A3 "through" traffic on our community.
I plan to meet with National Highways and our local councils to discuss the results of this survey and to find a resolution to this problem.
