Dear John,
Futures Without Violence is proud to join the Blue Shield of California Foundation and other California-based partners on October 20 for a virtual event on the Biden-Harris Administration’s new National Plan to End Gender-Based Violence and its implications for California. This first ever national action plan takes a comprehensive “whole of government” approach to addressing domestic violence and other forms of GBV, and it offers California unique opportunities to innovate and lead. Although California has made progress, we can do more to make our state a place where all people can live free from
violence.
What:
A virtual briefing and dialogue with national and California thought leaders and funders who are working to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault, with an emphasis on prevention and meeting the needs of survivors of color and their families.
When:
Friday, Oct. 20, 9:30-11 a.m. PDT
Attendees will learn about strategies to prevent and end gender-based violence and explore ways to take action to meet the needs of survivors and their families. The event will feature Caroline Bettinger-Lopez, senior advisor on gender and equality in the Office for Victims of Crime at the U.S. Department of Justice and some of the state’s leading organizations, including the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, VALOR, and the Culturally Responsive Domestic Violence Network. Please join us!
