Dear Everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I'd like to provide a brief update on recent communications from Ohio's legislators. Firstly, I had a conversation with Senator Antonio, a member of the Ohio Redistricting Commission, where she explained her rationale for supporting gerrymandered maps alongside Leader Russo. This candid discussion sheds light on the challenging grip the GOP holds on the Ohio legislature.

In addition, I've attached a fact sheet from Representative Juanita Brent, which I believe will further contribute to your understanding of why our current maps are in place.

I encourage you to take a moment to review these materials and consider their implications. It is my hope that they inspire you to join forces with former Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor and her initiative, Citizens Not Politicians. You can learn more about their efforts at their website here.

Currently, Ohio is grappling with a situation where politicians and lobbyists manipulate voting districts to secure their interests and ensure reelection. Consequently, incumbents rarely face serious challenges. Simply put, we allow politicians to choose their voters, and the recent maps are a stark example of this troubling practice.

Lastly, for those of you in Ohio, we find ourselves in the final stretch leading up to the November elections. On the ballot is Issue 1, which aims to enshrine in our constitution the right to an abortion.

I urge you to spread the word and encourage everyone to VOTE YES on Issue 1.
Your active participation is crucial in shaping the future of our democracy. Thank you for your attention, and let's make a positive impact together.

Best regards,

Matthew Diemer
