A leaked memo reveals how Mind the Gap, a political action committee, funneled over $20 million into House elections in 2018 to flip control of the House. The group stays under the radar by simply making recommendations to donors -- including Silicon Valley executives -- to coordinate donations to specific nonprofits at times that would have the greatest impact. The 2020 goal is to funnel $100 million into races and programs to galvanize Democratic voter turnout. See CRC’s Jonathan Gonzalez's report here ([link removed]

Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and its affiliates may have spent over $180 million on the so-called "Fight for $15" campaign. CRC’s Michael Watson examines SEIU’s spending and finds a classic corporate campaign right out of the union playbook, but with a twist. To succeed, the campaign needed Obama administration appointees at the National Labor Relations Board to rule against national franchised brands. Read more here ([link removed]
Who is Lee Halprin? ([link removed]
Lee Halprin is a prominent benefactor of Democratic politicians, contributing over $840,000 to left-wing candidates and campaigns since 1992. He is also a major funder of the Democratic Socialists of America, the largest socialist political organization in the United States. CRC's Shane Devine investigates the shrinking distinction between socialists and liberals here ([link removed]
Was George Soros behind the migrant caravans of 2018? ([link removed]
Three U.S.-based organizations -- Pueblo Sin Fronteras, La Familia Latina Unida, and the Centro Sin Fronteras -- appear to have played key roles in organizing and otherwise assisting the caravans of migrants that reached the U.S.-Mexican border in 2018. And the money trail appears to lead back to George Soros's Open Society Foundations. Read the report by CRC's Jon Rodeback here ([link removed]

InfluenceWatch Podcast #110: What the Green New Deal Would Mean ([link removed] this episode ([link removed] joined by Jason Isaac, Senior Manager for the "Life: Powered" project at the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) to discuss what the Green New Deal would actually mean for consumers and families in Texas and nationally. Last year, the hard Left -- including pressure groups like the Sunrise Movement, politicians like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, and labor unions like the Service Employees International Union -- put forth the Green New Deal, a package of radical environmentalist policy demands that ranged from banning air travel to retrofitting every building in the United States. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell denounced it as a "radical, top-down, socialist makeover of the entire U.S. economy"; Saikat Chakrabarti, one of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s close allies and a former aide, admitted the Green New Deal was a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy plan.Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Google Play, or Stitcher.
