Registration is now open for credit unions to attend a free, virtual town hall discussion between NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, happening Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. Eastern.

NAFCU to the Fed: Avoid unwarranted review of interchange cap ([link removed] )

NAFCU Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Mesack wrote Thursday to the Federal Reserve asking the Board of Governors to avoid an unwarranted review of the regulated debit interchange fee cap. He noted the fees are proven to help offset costs, but may be insufficient to manage and mitigate debit card fraud that has been on the rise in recent years.

CFPB announces appointment of NAFCU members to CUAC ([link removed] )

The CFPB announced yesterday the appointment of new members to multiple advisory committees, including three new members to the Credit Union Advisory Council (CUAC). CUAC and the CFPB's other advisory councils meet throughout the year to provide feedback to the bureau on consumer financial issues and industry trends; members serve a staggered, two-year term.

NAFCU’s offices will be closed Monday in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Credit union members will still have access to the association’s website for resources as well as regulatory and legislative updates on key issue areas.
