Dear John,
Wednesday, October 4 was a day to remember. The WFA team was working on several fronts to defend and protect family, religious freedom, and, frankly, commonsense.
We testified on three bills that were in three committee hearings simultaneously! AB 377 would protect women's sports at the K-12 level from allowing biological males to compete against females. The companion bill, AB 378 would do the same for women's sports at UW schools and state tech schools. Assembly Bill 465 was also in committee. This bill known as "Help Not Harm" would protect minors from being subjected to cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers and invasive, permanent surgery to try to do the impossible—"change" their gender. Pictured above is WFA/WFC team member Sierra John testifying on AB 378.
It was, to say the least, an interesting day. Dozens of individuals showed up to express their opposition to these bills. Many testified against the bills, making statements that, frankly, were misleading or flatly untrue. Thankfully, there were also a significant number of individuals who testified in favor of these bills.
We were swimming against the tide. When bills come to committee for a hearing, organizations can register their support or opposition to them. On all three bills, at least 12 organizations registered opposition. Most of them testified as well, arguing vehemently against the legislation. In all three cases, only two organizations registered support and spoke eloquently about why these bills are good for our state, Wisconsin Family Action and the Wisconsin Catholic Conference.
Thank you for supporting our work. Without your gifts and prayers, our voice for Truth and common sense on so many bills working through the Wisconsin legislature would not be heard.
Please take a moment to contact your state representative and ask him/her to support these important bills. Click here to send your email.
