Adam Schiff for Senate

John,

Before I ask you to split a contribution between our campaign and my friend Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s U.S. Senate campaign in Florida, I want to tell you a quick story about her opponent, GOP Sen. Rick Scott.

Back in the 1990s, as the CEO of a private, for-profit hospital corporation called Columbia/HCA, Rick Scott was allegedly involved in the largest Medicare and Medicaid fraud in U.S. history.

After his company pleaded guilty to 14 federal felonies, a record $1.7 billion fraud settlement for overbilling the U.S. government, and after he pleaded the Fifth Amendment 75 times in an official deposition, Scott left Columbia/HCA with over $300 million in stock options.

And it wasn’t long after that he began his Tea Party crusade against government spending.

His company bilks the government out of billions, and now he says the government spends too much on health care for seniors. The hypocrisy just smacks you in the face.

More recently, his attempts to gut Medicare and Social Security have been so extreme, even Mitch McConnell was taking shots at him in the media and forcing Scott to backtrack.

If that’s enough reason for you to support my friend, former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s U.S. Senate campaign against Rick Scott in Florida, I’m personally asking you to split a $3 contribution today. If you need more convincing, read on — Debbie is an incredible candidate doing important work on this campaign and deserves our support.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation to Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and Adam Schiff will go through immediately:

Debbie won a battleground House race in 2018 in South Florida that helped deliver the Democratic House majority, and served in the House with great distinction.

After a tough re-election loss, she served as a senior adviser for the gun safety advocacy organization Giffords, the namesake of former Rep. Gabby Giffords.

As the first South American-born immigrant elected to Congress, Debbie has been a leading voice on so many issues, and I’m all-in on her effort to take this righteous fight to the U.S. Senate.

If you would like to see Rick Scott defeated and replaced by Debbie, I’m personally asking you to split a $3 contribution or any amount to Debbie and my U.S. Senate campaigns. Let’s not only protect our Democratic Senate majority — let’s expand it.

Thanks so much for your support.

— Adam
