Tell Your Member of Congress:Support TPS for Nicaragua
In September, DHS Secretary Mayorkas announced that his department had no intention to redesignate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nicaragua, despite historic numbers of Nicaraguans migrating to the United States. Any Nicaraguan who came after 1998, when TPS was last designated for Nicaragua over 20 years ago, is not eligible for this protection from deportation.
Representatives Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, Joaquin Castro, Maxwell Frost, and MarĂa Elvira Salazar are leading a Congressional letter calling on the Biden Administration to redesignate TPS for Nicaragua.
We urge you to call or email your member of Congress and ask them to join the letter. *You can direct them to sign at this link before COB tomorrow: [link removed] ([link removed])
