Last week, Danica had the opportunity to debate her opponent in this race for the first time.
Unfortunately, during the debate, one of our opponent’s supporters started to heckle Danica with anti-trans language and was eventually ejected from the event.
As reported in the Washington Blade, Danica responded perfectly:
“Thank you for reminding me why I won three elections in this district in Prince William County, which is the most diverse county in all of Virginia, and the 10th most nationally. Where we welcome everyone because of who they are, not despite it, no matter what you look like, where you come from, how you worship, if you do, or who you love. Because you should be able to thrive here because of who you are, never despite it.”

It’s not the first time something like this has happened, and it won’t be the last. But making sure that Danica is sitting in that seat in the Senate chamber will make a difference. It will show people like that woman, our opponent, and the many regressive individuals who are on their side, that Virginia will simply not stand for their message or their policies.
