Dear AFGE Community,
Each year AFGE remembers and celebrates the impact Augusta Y. Thomas had not just in the union she so loved, but in the communities where she worked hard to help those in need and give a voice to those who felt voiceless.
This year, in honor of Augusta Y. Thomas Day, and in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments are requesting for everyone to come together in AFGE and to work together by giving back to those in need within the community. We are needing your support and assistance with helping us to contribute items to the House of Ruth, which is a non-profit organization that empowers women, children, and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse, and homelessness.
The House of Ruth has identified the needed items below. Please bring your donation from the list below to WFP on the 11th Floor to WFP Secretary Bracha Israel by Friday, October 13, 2023. WFP will then deliver all items received to the House of Ruth.
