Since January, Kevin McCarthy has enabled extremists. It started with the promises he made to secure the job during the week-long, 15-vote speaker fight in January. We saw it again in May when he let our country come close to defaulting on its obligations and then reneged on the budget agreement he negotiated. And we certainly saw it last week when he waited until the eleventh hour to prevent a government shutdown.

Now, for the first time in history, the Republican Speaker of the House has been ousted, and they are fighting among themselves to fill the void.

This is what happens when extremists are emboldened.
