This week, Republicans voted to remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, marking the first time in history a sitting Speaker has been ousted. And while I won't shed a tear for McCarthy, this chaos comes at a cost for NY-17 constituents.

From the moment Republicans retook power in the House, their leadership has been nothing short of dysfunctional.

Rather than work to solve real issues our communities face, Republicans have focused on opening a baseless impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.

Just last week, Republicans nearly shut down our federal government, and amid that chaos, 90% of House Republicans (including Mike Lawler) voted for 30% cuts to law enforcement, Meals on Wheels, Head Start, and more.

And now, Republicans removed their own leader—leaving the House incapable of doing its work on behalf of the country.

The American people are paying the price. Instead of lower drug costs, housing that is affordable, or protections for fundamental rights like abortion, we get internecine squabbling from egomaniacs. Instead of passing a budget, we get a Speaker fight that’s messier than a toddler eating spaghetti.

And let's be clear—Mike Lawler has enabled this chaos and MAGA extremism at every turn. His election gave Republicans their majority. It’s time to put a stop to this madness. I’m running for Congress to defeat Mike Lawler and restore serious leadership in the House of Representatives. Are you with me?
