Gov. Whitmer Raises Flags to Full-Staff at Sunset on Thursday, October 5?

LANSING, Mich. ? Today, in accordance with a presidential proclamation, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags within the State Capitol Complex and upon all public buildings and grounds across the state of Michigan to be raised to full-staff at sunset on Thursday, October 5, following the interment?of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. The flags?have been?lowered to half-staff since?Friday, September 29 to honor and remember U.S. Senator?Feinstein?who?passed away?on?Thursday,?September 28. ?

?Senator Feinstein has opened doors and shattered glass ceilings for so many women,? said Governor Whitmer. ?As the longest serving woman in the Senate?s history, she has served her home state of California remarkably and has left a strong legacy with her work. Our thoughts continue to be with her family, friends, supporters, and staff during this time.??

The State of Michigan remembers?U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein and the work she has done for all Americans. Michigan residents, businesses, schools, local governments, and other organizations are encouraged to raise flags to?full-staff.?
