** Dear John xxxxxx,
------------------------------------------------------------

The transportation sector guzzles 80% of our total petroleum consumption and remains a major source of US climate pollution. Continuing to strengthen fuel economy standards for new cars and trucks ([link removed]) is a key tool in slashing our dependence on oil and cutting climate pollution.

Recently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) proposed new Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards for vehicles sold from Model Year 2027 and beyond.

** Why It Matters
------------------------------------------------------------

Strong fuel economy standards are pivotal in shaping a sustainable future, bringing about numerous benefits:
* Combat climate change by reducing oil consumption.
* Save you money at the pump, boosting the economy.
* Protect public health by reducing air pollution.

We urge you to join us in supporting the call ([link removed]) for NHTSA to finalize stringent CAFE standards that maximize both environmental and economic benefits. These standards will drive a cleaner, more efficient future for all.

** Use Your Voice
------------------------------------------------------------

By implementing the strongest standards possible, we can:
* Prevent over 900 million tons of CO2 climate pollution from entering our atmosphere.
* Help save over $50 billion on fuel for consumers.
* Reduce our nation's oil dependence by more than 88 billion gallons.

This is a piece of the puzzle to help reduce the pollution driving the climate crisis. We need cleaner cars, SUVs, pickups and vans. Advocating for strong fuel economy standards is more critical than ever ([link removed]) . Your support can protect Midwest drivers from volatile gas prices and drive the auto industry to produce more fuel-efficient vehicles.
Submit a Public Comment Before the October 16 Deadline ([link removed])

Thank you for being an active participant in creating a sustainable and economically sound future. We appreciate your ongoing support.
