Dear John,

Every election year, political pundits tell us that we’re facing the most consequential election in history. Most years, that’s just empty hype.

*But this year, there really is some truth to that.*

Over the past two years, Virginia Republicans have delivered a slate of historic successes for our Commonwealth. We’ve used our significant budget surplus to cut taxes, while at the same time delivering record investments in important resources like our public schools and mental health care.

Governor Youngkin has also worked with Republicans in the legislature to forge partnerships with local leaders – Republican and Democrat alike – to fuel economic growth in the areas that need it most. Conservative governance has brought tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in investments to Virginia.

But instead of working with Republicans, Virginia Democrats have chosen the path of obstructionist antics and petty partisan squabbles. They’ve fought tooth and nail to block more tax cuts for families, block tougher penalties for drug dealers, and kill a number of other common-sense bills.

*They care more about power than they do serving the best interests of their voters.*

If Democrats prevail this November, it will be a vindication of their cynical political calculus.

The path to electing a legislature that will work with Governor Youngkin, not against him, starts with early voting.
