Representative Adriano Espaillat Delivers One Million Dollars in Federal Funding for Youth Program in the District
Espaillat Secured $1 Million Federal Funding for the Brotherhood Sister Sol’s after school program benefiting youth in New York's 13th congressional district
NEW YORK, NY -- Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement upon securing $1 million in community project funding for Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis), a comprehensive youth and educational program based in New York's 13th congressional district that aims to help young people develop a critical understanding of their history, identity and role in society.
"I am honored to deliver this significant level of federal funding to support Brotherhood Sister Sol in its efforts to offer youth and their families support services to ensure their well–being and long-term success," said Rep. Espaillat. "Through the Appropriations Fiscal Year 2023 process, I was proud to secure $1,000,000 which will support BroSis' after school program which provides youth an array of enrichment activities that include arts programming, tutoring, mentoring, counseling, and outings."

The funding will play a pivotal role in BroSis’ mission to provide a holistic and safe environment that nurtures academic growth, fosters creativity, and inspires a lifelong passion for learning.

Representative Espaillat is the first Dominican American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and his congressional district includes Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill and the north-west Bronx. First elected to Congress in 2016, Representative Espaillat is serving his fourth term in Congress.
