45 days.

That's what was agreed to in Washington over the weekend. Just 45 days of functioning government, soldiers receiving their paychecks, food assistance helping parents feed their kids, and the list goes on.

But what happens at the end of those 45 days?

The very same MAGA extremists who almost shut down the government will still be in Congress, and they will still be chomping at the bit to force a shutdown.

This bipartisan victory was anything but; it's a ticking time bomb.

Our country can't keep doing this. We need a Congress that will fight for the American people, not itself. Can you chip in $3 today and help us build the grassroots coalition to elect a Democratic Majority in the House?

CHIP IN $3

I think it's safe to say that we are all tired of Matt Gaetz and his posse of wild extremists. Kevin McCarthy is bad news, but he has given the far-far-right wing of his party unprecedented decision making power that affects each and every American.

It has to stop.

But the only way to do that is at the ballot box. We started out with 45 days on Sunday, October 1st, but today is October 5th, and we only have 40 days left, so we need to show them we mean business.

Can I count on you to join our grassroots movement, donate to the One Country Fund today, and help us tell Matt Gaetz and his ilk that their time in Congress is coming to an end?

J.D. represents Iowa's 1st District in the State House and continues to advocate for residents in small towns across Iowa.
