Biden his time?

Former Vice President Joe Biden handily won the South Carolina Democratic primary, but is it a preview of Super Tuesday?

In a veiled dig against his top competitor - Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a democratic socialist - Biden urged voters to rally behind "a lifelong Democrat, a proud Democrat, an Obama-Biden Democrat."

“The people aren’t looking for revolution," he told supporters at his victory party. "They’re looking for results.”

All the remaining candidates will face fewer challengers tomorrow: Billionaire executive Tom Steyer dropped out of the race on Saturday.

Then, on Sunday, former South Bend, Indiana, mayor Pete Buttigieg suspended his campaign. The 38-year-old made history as the first openly gay candidate to earn delegates for the presidential nomination in a major political party.

Peace Possible in Afghanistan?

The U.S. has signed an agreement with the Taliban aimed at ending its 18-year war in Afghanistan.

The deal signed in Doha on Saturday called for a withdrawal of around 4,000 troops and a prisoner swap involving 1,000 Afghan troops and 5,000 Taliban prisoners.

However, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani said he will not release the Taliban prisoners ahead of this week's peace talks.

“The request has been made by the United States for the release of prisoners and it can be part of the negotiations but it cannot be a precondition,” Ghani said on Sunday.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo avoided directly addressing Ghani's comments, but told "Face the Nation" that the U.S. "will work with all relevant parties to build on confidence, to create confidence-building measures amongst all of the parties, the Afghan government, non-Taliban, and others in the Afghan."

Do you support the U.S.-Taliban peace agreement?
