Since I joined this race, the most common question I get from folks on the trail is: “Why did you decide to run for office?”

I get it — I am a Louisiana lawyer (and a dang good one at that!) who’s been doing what I do best for years. I’m not a politician, but I threw my hat into the ring for a reason — this fight is personal to me.

Despite having the odds stacked against me as a working woman in a man’s world, I have succeeded again, and again, and again. The reason I fight these uphill battles is because I’ve represented everyday folks who are counting on me — and I do everything in my power not to let them down.

Running for office hasn’t been easy, but every time I meet a voter who’s excited about my vision for a more just, equitable Louisiana, I know I’m right where I need to be — on the way to becoming the first female AG our state’s ever seen.
