Creating avenues to financial inclusion for Latino families
Did you know Latino communities are the fastest-growing groups of consumers in the US? Despite this, many Latino families face heavy debts and struggle to save money and access affordable banking services. However, policymakers and financial leaders can make a difference in closing the gap.


In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Urban spoke with Barbara Martinez from Heartland Alliance, one of Chicago's largest human service organizations. As the asset building program manager, Martinez empowers families, many of whom are Latino, to build paths to economic security.
