269 versus 2,918.
That's the number of days that Kevin McCarthy served as speaker of the House versus the number of days that Nancy Pelosi served.
Those numbers alone should tell you all that you need to know about McCarthy's disastrous leadership – but if that's not convincing enough, then I'll give you some more context. (But first, if you want to chip in to my fight for progress and hold far-right lawmakers like Kevin McCarthy accountable, click here to donate to my Senate campaign.)

John, over the course of 2,918 days, my colleague and our first female speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, successfully navigated our party and the rest of the House of Representatives through a series of crises. From the financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic to the insurrection on our nation's Capitol, Pelosi's steadfast leadership got us through each emergency unscathed.
Kevin McCarthy couldn't even make it to day 1 as speaker before losing control of his party. Let's not forget that it took him 15 rounds of voting to be elected as speaker of the House – and with each vote, he conceded further to far-right demands.
John, the latest news makes it abundantly clear who really holds the power in the Republican party – and it's the same MAGA extremist members who are trying to destroy our reproductive rights, voting rights and more.
You know that I'll always hold the far-right accountable and deliver for the American people because that's what I've been doing my whole career – and that's a promise I intend to keep in the Senate. But this race is anything but easy, so I have to ask:
Will you chip in ASAP now to help me fight back against the MAGA extremists and the toxic far-right extremism that has taken root in our country?

Republicans don't have the best interest of Californians in mind – but I do. Thank you for supporting my campaign to bring the most effective and progressive voice to the U.S. Senate.
