John – for the first time in U.S. history, a sitting Speaker of the House was voted out of office, making Speaker Kevin McCarthy just Congressman McCarthy.
And frankly, I hope he’s embarrassed. Not only because of his short tenure as Speaker of the House, but the way he treats his constituents back here in Bakersfield.
Throughout his time in Congress, Kevin McCarthy has consistently fallen short of true leadership. He's become known for making empty promises and abandoning the very people who entrusted him with their votes. He should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself.
My promise to you is simple: I will never emulate Kevin McCarthy's self-serving behavior. Instead, I am dedicated to being a voice in Congress that genuinely represents the interests of our district and the countless individuals across our nation struggling to make ends meet.
Kevin McCarthy has never been this vulnerable, and our campaign has a unique opportunity to gain momentum and push forward.
