Here are some recent updates.
* Pro-voting groups condemned ([link removed]) Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) administration after state officials admitted to errantly and illegally removing an unknown number of eligible voters when purging more than 17,000 registrations.
* Republicans on the Wisconsin Senate elections committee voted ([link removed]) to remove Gov. Tony Evers' (D) Democratic appointee from the bipartisan Wisconsin Elections Commission. The matter heads to the full Senate for a vote.
* In the Georgia redistricting lawsuits, a federal judge has asked ([link removed]) the U.S. Department of Justice to respond to Republicans' argument that Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act is unconstitutional.
* Voters sued ([link removed]) over Alabama's absentee ballot system, arguing that it is inaccessible for individuals with print disabilities and violates the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act.
Here’s what’s coming up tomorrow.
* There will be a hearing in Republicans’ new lawsuit ([link removed]) challenging New York’s absentee voting law, Assembly Bill 7931 ([link removed]) . The law allows for the review of absentee ballots on a rolling basis, requires voters who request an absentee ballot but decide to vote in person to vote using a provisional ballot and prevents legal challenges to already cast absentee ballots.
