Friend, Amid the chaos and dysfunction in DC, I am focused on being transparent with Iowans and providing solutions. I will be holding two in-person Town Hall Meetings this week to hear from you and answer your questions. I will be in Clayton County and Bremer County on Friday, October 6th. I hope to see you there! Clayton County Town Hall Friday, October 6th 9:30 am Edgewood Event Center 303 North Washington Street, Edgewood, IA Bremer County Town Hall Friday, October 6th 11:45 am Waverly Public Library Bremer Room 1500 W Bremer Ave Waverly, IA 50677 Best, Stillbirth Prevention Passes Senate Stillbirth, the unexpected loss of a baby after more than 20 weeks of pregnancy, is a preventable tragedy. The data shows that 25% of stillbirths are preventable! We can end this silent crisis and ensure no mom or dad has to endure the pain of a stillbirth again. Last week, the Senate passed my bipartisan, bicameral Maternal Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act. This legislation expands federal grants for stillbirth prevention activities to help save the lives of moms and babies. We are one step closer to ending stillbirth, and I am committed to getting this done for our families! Video Update: Fighting the Chaos This week, Republicans had the opportunity to focus all our energy against the disastrous Biden agenda that has resulted in open borders, rampant inflation, and skyrocketing crime. Instead, the House has been paralyzed and all of the work on our conservative agenda is on pause. Hardworking Americans are the ones who pay the price for political games like these – not the selfish politicians who play them. I will continue working to end the embarrassing chaos and dysfunction in Washington and pursuing solutions to the challenges Iowans are facing each day. Today, I held a Facebook Live update to explain my thoughts on the Motion to Vacate, next steps for government funding, and ways we can make this place run better for taxpayers.
