Throughout my ten months in Congress, I’ve watched Kevin McCarthy enable the extremists in his party. He said whatever he needed to say, cut side deals with extreme MAGA Republicans, and made promises he couldn’t keep just to become Speaker. McCarthy made his bed, and now he has to lie in it.

The past few weeks have shown that House Republicans are not capable of governing. After bringing our country dangerously close to a government shutdown, Republicans are once again in shambles as they start the process of picking a new speaker. And meanwhile, all work in the House has been brought to a halt.
