My good friend Rep. Jahana Hayes needs our help. Her opponent from last year just announced that he would challenge her again.

Last year, this race was one of the most competitive races in the country — coming down to just 2004 votes.

If you can afford it, please split a donation between Jahana Hayes and my reelection today. This is sure to be one of the closest races once again, and every dollar will make a difference.

The House majority is incredibly narrow, and it could come down to this seat. Seriously. This was the 8th closest race last year — a 0.79% margin of victory.

In 2022, Republicans spent nearly $6 million dollars trying to defeat Jahana. It was one of the most expensive House races anywhere, and now national Republicans have convinced their top recruit to run again.

It is a clear indication of just how desperate they are to win this seat. I’d bet that House Republicans have certainly promised him at least the same level of outside support in 2024.

But we cannot afford to lose Jahana’s voice in Congress. Her story is her truth, and it’s a powerful one. She’s worked her way from teenage mother in Waterbury’s housing projects to 2016 National Teacher of the Year to the first Black woman to represent Connecticut in Congress.

She deserves our support, and she’s going to need all of us to have her back to make sure she holds this seat. Democrats’ ability to take back the House runs right through CT-05.

So please, split a donation between Jahana Hayes and my reelection today to make sure we have the resources to win in 2024. It would mean a lot to me personally.
