** Early Efforts: The Importance of Men in Early Childhood

On Monday, October 2, The Hunt Institute hosted an Early Efforts webinar on why men are important during the early years and what can be done to make the profession more enticing and accessible for male professionals. Watch the recording ([link removed]) now on our YouTube channel.


** DRIVE Tour 2023 | Asheville, NC
------------------------------------------------------------

On September 21-22, The Hunt Institute facilitated an Educators of Color Networking Event and Task Force meeting in Asheville, NC. The event highlighted local efforts to recruit, prepare, support, and retain educators of color. The next tour stop will take place in Winston-Salem, NC in November.


** Women's State Education Leaders Retreat
------------------------------------------------------------

On September 25-27, The Hunt Institute hosted the inaugural Women's State Education Leaders Retreat in Cary, NC. Planned and led by women for an audience of women education leaders, attendees explored what it is like to be public leaders, work with policy makers, and create a culture of success.


** National HBCU Conference Panel
------------------------------------------------------------

On September 27, The Hunt Institute led a panel on using state policy to harness the economic power of HBCUs for the National HBCU Conference in Arlington, VA. President & CEO Javaid Siddiqi, Ph.D., led the conversation with Senator Sonya Halpern of Georgia and President Michael Sorrell of Paul Quinn College.


** North Carolina Community College System Transition Meeting One
------------------------------------------------------------

On September 28, The Hunt Institute hosted the first meeting of the North Carolina Community College System Transition Committee. The committee learned how to support student needs and how they can develop a framework to support the system’s future. The next meeting will take place in November.
