Dear John,
For the first time in over 100 years the Speaker of The House has been challenged and ousted from office. This makes Kevin McCarthy the shortest serving Speaker in history.
There is much speculation as to why Rep. Gaetz (R-FL) called for a vote to vacate. Regardless of his reasons, this puts the Republican party in a precarious position. The necessary work that needs to get done for the American people is being delayed.
The good news is we have candidates that are now stepping forward to fill the vacancy left by the recent 216-210 vote. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Steve Scalise (R-LA) have thrown their hat into the ring for the position. Both are excellent options.
Republicans are getting sidetracked by infighting and are wasting precious time on getting appropriations assigned and bills passed. This party needs to realize who the opposition really is - it is not other Republicans.
When I am in Congress, I will work to bring our party together and get things done for the people of the 6th District, and for all Americans. Help me bring common sense back to Washington DC. Please consider making a contribution to my campaign. No amount is too small.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Stay strong!
