At CZI, we believe that building lasting, valuable impact starts in the communities in which we live and work. It’s one of the reasons we launched the Community Fund in 2017, an annual funding opportunity for organizations that are helping create a more socially, economically, and racially just San Mateo County.
Through their programs and services, Community Fund partners are increasing access to the building blocks of social and economic well-being, including housing, healthcare, education, job and career skills and other social supports. We see the impact of this partnership come to life in a myriad of ways: through art enrichment programs for youth, job readiness workshops, counseling for underserved families and much more.
We’re thrilled to support 39 organizations through the Community Fund in the upcoming year. Grantees will receive two-year grants, enabling them to have greater flexibility to address the most urgent needs facing the local community. The Community Fund pairs grants with capacity building to support leadership and organizational development so local groups have the resources and tools they need to further their missions and work.
“These organizations are part of the foundation of San Mateo County and help families thrive by offering vital social supports, including access to healthcare, education, career development and housing,” says Andrea Jones, Director of Bay Area Giving at CZI. “We’re thrilled to partner with these vibrant, important nonprofits in the coming year to further our mission of creating a more equitable, inclusive and just San Mateo County.”
