Our volunteer-driven, nationwide Patients Over Profits (POP) campaign is building the political will for Medicare for All by demanding politicians take our pledge to reject donations of $200 or more from executives, lobbyists, and PACs affiliated with the for-profit health care industry.
If we’re going to get enough politicians to take the pledge, we need your help! So far, our volunteer research team has found almost 200 events — like candidate forums — across the country, which are opportunities for folks like you to ask your elected officials and political candidates to take the POP pledge.
Check out our map of POP events happening across the country to sign up for an event near you!
Every single one of these events was discovered by our volunteer researchers. Just this past weekend, volunteers in Tucson, AZ attended a city council candidate forum and got four politicians to sign onto our pledge — including two Republicans!
This is a truly people-powered campaign, and our tactics are working. Volunteers are finding and attending these events, asking candidates to take the pledge, and building our movement. You can, too!
When you register for an event in your community, an organizer on our team will reach out to you and you’ll receive all the instructions you need, including the pledge to print out, guidance on what to say, etc. We’re here to support you — there’s no experience necessary!
Check the map now to see if there’s an event near you.
If not, no worries — sign up to join our POP Special Volunteer Teams for other ways to get involved and to find out when new events near you are identified.
Thanks for anything you can do to help us break the influence of the for-profit health care industry on our political process.
In solidarity,
Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
