John,
On Saturday, Congress reached an agreement to avoid a harmful, unnecessary shutdown of the federal government. This was a great step forward in fostering bipartisanship and serving the American people.
Nevertheless, this agreement leaves a number of urgent priorities outstanding – including our commitment to assist the Ukrainian people.
Since the beginning of Putin's invasion last year, President Biden has led the international community as it has imposed sanctions on Russia and delivered substantial amounts of aid to Ukraine. In Congress, we have thus far been united in strong bipartisan support to pass critical bills to elevate the security of our international community. We have to continue to stand by Ukraine. Their fight is our fight, and we cannot abandon our allies as the conflict goes on.
In the coming weeks, I will work to ensure the U.S. government continues to provide critical and sustained security and economic support for Ukraine. I support Ukraine's efforts to defend its sovereignty against Putin's brazen aggression, and I join a strong bipartisan majority of my colleagues in this essential work.
With the eyes of our partners, allies, and adversaries upon us, I keenly understand the importance of American leadership and the importance of keeping our promise to the Ukrainian people. Now, I'm asking for your help to make it happen: Will you join me in calling on House Republicans to continue supporting Ukraine? Add your name>> [link removed]
