Yesterday, I voted to oust Kevin McCarthy as speaker.

John, this is unprecedented. Not once in US history has a speaker been ousted.

Earlier this year, this same party elected its speaker after a historic five days and 15 votes later. Their track record since then has been nothing short of a failure for the American people.

This proves what Democrats have been saying all along. The Republican party is not fit to govern. Their failures to lead have propped up hateful and discriminatory legislation and done little to aid American workers and families.
