John, I'm proud to have endorsed my friend Rep. Barbara Lee for the U.S. Senate. I'll tell you a bit more about why she has my endorsement in a minute, but first, if you're already committed to sending a progressive champion like Congresswoman Lee to the Senate, click here to rush a donation to her campaign.

Barbara Lee's entire life has been shaped by fighting for what's right.

When her entirely white cheerleading squad had no girls of color on the team, she worked with the NAACP to integrate her squad and become her high school's first Black cheerleader. When it was still legal to discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community, she authored the California Schools Hate Crimes Prevention Act and got a Republican governor to sign it into law. She has been a leader in protecting abortion rights, authoring legislation to overturn the discriminatory Hyde Amendment and fighting to protect access to medication abortion. Time and time again, she has proven that she will not falter in her fight for good – regardless of how big or small the fight may be.

And that's exactly the kind of person that we need going toe to toe with Mitch McConnell in the Senate.

Someone who has been fighting for issues like abortion rights, fair housing, climate action and LGBTQ+ rights long before the Democratic Party had even considered taking up those fights. Someone who is not afraid to stand up for what she knows is right – even in the face of adversity. Someone who will bring the voice of Black women to the Senate where it is sorely missed.

John, we cannot afford to miss the opportunity to send Barbara Lee to the Senate. That's why I'm doing my part and endorsing her for 2024 – but I need you to do your part as well.

Black women like Barbara and I face even more barriers to being elected than our peers, and that means that getting Rep. Lee to the Senate is going to require each and every one of us working together. So I'm humbly asking:

Please, will you rush a donation to Barbara Lee's campaign to help send her to the Senate so she can build a progressive future for all?

Stacey Abrams
