Nadia Abrica
North Los Angeles County Organizer
Team CADEM is proud to introduce Nadia Abrica, Organizer for North Los Angeles County!
Nadia first joined CADEM in May of 2023, bringing with her a proud history of organizing and community outreach. Nadia was born and raised in Los Angeles, but frequently traveled to Mexico with her family, experiencing life in both countries. As a young adult, Nadia accepted an opportunity to study at the University of Mexico. After graduating, she returned to the United States. However, upon realizing that her degree was not valid in America, she continued to pursue higher-education, earning an AA in Psychology and Child Development at the Los Angeles Mission College, and eventually transferring to California State University of Northridge to study Political Science.
Nadia is always learning and educating herself. Through her 10 plus year tenure with Ground Works Campaigns, Nadia proudly gained extensive knowledge of working with diverse communities. Prior to becoming an organizer, Nadia was an activist, following the footsteps of her mother. Today, she wakes up each morning remembering the legacy of her family members and their activism.
Nadia is also Vice President of Latinos en Diseno, as organization focused on empowering women in her community.
Nadia's passions include growing her knowledge in organizing, empowering labor unions, providing equal opportunities for all, and protecting women's rights.

Robin Fernandez
Kern County Democratic Central Committee/Democratic Women of Kern
I was born in California, but raised in the small city of Morris in the state of Minnesota. We moved to Florida when I was in the 5th grade for a few years, eventually coming back to Lancaster, California. I now live in Bakersfield with my husband Jerry who is also my DWK partner in activism.
I grew up in a working family where my father worked hard to provide and was a regular voter. That's where I realized the value and need for healthcare. I registered as a Democrat and became an avid voter as well.
When Trump was elected, I realized I had to do more than just vote. I became empowered by the Women's March, I joined the Democratic Women of Kern and have been actively supporting civic engagement in my community.
I agree with the Democratic & social values, and I believe politics affects all people. I believe in the programs that help and uplift our communities.
I've stayed civically active and engaged with the Democratic Women of Kern and Central Committee. We've built power in the party, we're present at community events to register voters, and we GOTV by phone banking, texting and canvassing. One thing I always remember to do is asking young people if they are registered to vote.
I am committed to doing my part to win back the House in 2024!
