The Dark Side of Wildlife Tourism [[link removed]]
Hello Friend,
On October 4, World Animal Day, stand up for the wild animals suffering for entertainment.
Tropical islands are a dream destination for many of us, but our latest investigation, Paradise Lost: Behind Bali’s Wildlife Tourism [[link removed]] , reveals that Bali is a nightmare for the elephants and other animals trapped in wildlife venues.
There is currently no ethical way to see wild animals in tourist venues in Bali and Lombok. Our investigators found:
• Elephants chained without shade and jabbed with bull-hooks in the most sensitive parts of the bodies
• Dolphins swimming in circles in tiny pools
• Tigers forced to perform amid blaring music and screaming crowds
Even if you never visit Bali, the sad truth is that animals are also suffering for entertainment in the US. Did you know that it’s still legal to force elephants to perform and give rides to people in much of the country?
This World Animal Day, protect animals by signing our Wildlife. Not Entertainers pledge [[link removed]] . Remember: if you can ride, hug, or take a selfie with a wild animal, it’s animal cruelty.
Sincerely,
Liz Cabrera Holtz
