Last week, Governor Gavin Newsom signed several bills into law, which have taken immediate effect. These new laws have raised concerns among some that they encroach upon parental freedom and the safety of our children, particularly concerning literature and curriculum within school districts. To name one, AB-1078 removes the local school districts from making decisions that would affect their community. Such an attack not only has serious implications for California parents, but it can influence the rest of the country.
