This project is one of the first to preserve and honor LGBTQ+ political history. We're shining a light on the LGBTQ+ icons, historic victories and people behind the scenes that dedicated their time and efforts to preserving LGBTQ+ equality. From the founding of Victory Fund 32 years ago, to victories that shattered lavender ceilings, to moments that honored our community’s progress, this timeline has something for everyone to enjoy – and hopefully, you’ll learn something new!

As I read through all the major events of the last several decades, I was struck by how far the LGBTQ+ community has come. Each of these out elected officials honored on the timeline represents our growing political power – and the increasing acceptance of LGBTQ+ lives.
