NYC Becomes First US City to Offer ‘on Demand’ Phone Appointment for ‘Abortion Kit’
- New York City’s health system has become the first in the nation to offer “on demand” virtual “abortion access,” the city announced on Monday. This latest push is nothing more than kowtowing to the abortion industry over the safety concerns for women.
- Abortion pills aren’t safe. In fact, the complication rate from abortion pills is four times higher than a surgical abortion.
- A recent study found emergency room visits following a chemical abortion increased by more than 500%.
- If the FDA won't do its job, Congress must step in and put a stop to pills-by-mail and telemedicine abortion. Lives depend on it.

Email Shows Weiss Violated DOJ Policy By Sending Letters to Cover For Garland
- The Department of Justice directed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss not to respond to congressional inquiries, according to an email obtained by The Heritage Foundation Oversight Project.
- That same email stressed that under DOJ policy, only its Office of Legislative Affairs, or OLA, can respond to requests from the legislative branch.
- Yet Weiss would later sign and dispatch a letter to the House Judiciary Committee in response to an inquiry sent directly to Attorney General Merrick Garland. And in that letter, Weiss misleadingly claimed he had “been granted ultimate authority over” the Hunter Biden investigation.
- The DOJ’s disregard of its own policy provides further proof that both Garland and Weiss intended to obfuscate the reality that Weiss never held the reins of the Hunter Biden investigation.
- Now we know it wasn’t merely ‘unusual’ for Weiss to respond on behalf of the attorney general — it was in apparent violation of DOJ policy.

The D.C. City Council Failed at Criminal Justice Reform—Congress Must Fix It
- On Monday night, Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28) was carjacked at gunpoint not far from the U.S. Capitol.
- Crime in the District of Columbia has hit record highs—car theft alone is up 106% this year.
- D.C.’s City Council and the D.C. Criminal Code Reform Commission has failed to enact a sensible, safety-based, modern criminal code. because they were, and continue to be, convinced that those charged with crimes and those convicted of crimes in the District are victims of “the system.”
- Clearly, “the system” is benefitting criminals. Congress has the right and the duty to fix this problem once and for all and should design a criminal justice system that protects District residents, respects victims, provides meaningful opportunities for deserving defendants to get on the right track, and punishes the worst offenders with serious prison time.
