Procter & Gamble is still sourcing planet-wrecking palm oil – its annual
meeting is our chance to make it stop.

John,

The rainforests in Indonesia are on fire – and companies like Procter &
Gamble are complicit in this planet-wrecking arson. But now we have the
chance to make change happen!

There are still hundreds of reckless palm oil producers greedy enough to
burn, bulldoze, and steal rainforest land from indigenous farmers. Leading
consumer goods company P&G is still buying this dirty palm oil to make
Head & Shoulders shampoo or Crest toothpaste – despite all the fancy
promises and policies. P&G goes as far as ignoring its shareholders,
consumers, and even the founders’ descendants’ calls to stop wreaking
havoc on Earth.

But its biggest shareholder meeting of the year is happening very soon:
It’s on us to make the conversation all about protecting the forests and
fighting climate chaos. Join our call now – we’ll take it to P&G’s
headquarters and make sure its leadership can’t ignore it anymore.

producers

P&G is the industry’s third-largest palm oil importer, yet it’s been an
absolute laggard when it comes to more robust policies to protect
rainforests and all who depend on them. Even its founders’ descendants
have called on its leadership to put people and the planet first.

Other big companies that depend on palm oil to make their products have
strengthened their policies and rushed to cut out the bad producers from
their supply chains, thanks to relentless pressure from consumers like
you, John. This shows it works as long as we keep it up: The
shareholder meeting next week is our chance to drive the message home for
the world’s second largest consumer goods company to do better.

We can’t lose another square foot of Indonesia’s previous rainforests to
fires and clear-cuts driven by mega-corporations’ greed for bigger
profits. Let’s tell P&G’s leadership to put its money where its mouth is
and make its toothpaste and shampoos with truly sustainable palm oil.
