On Saturday, we faced our third FEC end-of-quarter fundraising deadline of this election cycle. Thanks to the incredible support of this grassroots team, I'm incredibly proud to announce that we not only reached our FEC end-of-quarter goal, we surpassed it!

But over the past week, we also saw how much work we have ahead of us. While we narrowly avoided a government shutdown, House Republicans have shown they’re willing to put our country on the brink of a reckless shutdown for the sake of political theater.

We also saw how, after kowtowing to the most extreme elements of his own party, Speaker McCarthy ultimately caved at the last possible second and depended on Democrats to keep the government open.

And afterwards, Speaker McCarthy had the audacity to claim full credit–and blame House Democrats for the near-shutdown! Let’s be clear: Democrats united to protect the American people from an unnecessary and economically devastating shutdown–which 91 Republicans voted for.

And the chaos only continues. Matt Gaetz and his Freedom Caucus cronies introduced a motion to vacate – grinding House business to a halt yet again and leaving the House without a Speaker.

The chaos and dysfunction will not stop as long as the Republicans have the majority–we must flip the House next November.

The road ahead won’t be easy, but thanks to this team’s continued support, I know we can win this race, take back the House, and restore the leadership we need in Congress next year.
