The House devolved into chaos today as Republicans showed once again how incapable of governing they are. I was proud to vote against Kevin McCarthy along with every single House Democrat. The man who took 15 votes in January to become Speaker spent the past 9 months sucking up to Donald Trump, cutting deals and immediately turning his back on them, and launching faux impeachment inquiries into Joe Biden.

We don't know what comes next, but there's one thing I'm certain of: the country can't afford an unstable Republican majority in 2024. When Democrats had a narrow majority in 2021, we got things done for the American people. We restored American democracy, passed historic clean energy investments, the largest infrastructure investment in American history, and reopened the country after COVID-19.

Democrats need just five seats to gain a majority and I'm doing everything I can to make sure we win them in 2024. The investments my campaign is making today here in Virginia, and nationwide, make sure we can win the 5 seats we need to get a majority next year.
