John,
Last week, as the government seemed set to shut down, 198 Republicans voted to create a commission to drag Social Security and Medicare behind closed doors and slash them. That was the price they hoped to extract in exchange for keeping the government open for 31 days.
Democrats stood strong and Republicans caved―the government is still open, and Social Security still works.
But Americans who are represented by those 198 Republicans deserve to know that their representatives voted to destroy our earned benefits. So we’re running a series of billboards, starting in New York state, targeting the supposedly-moderate Rep. Marc Molinaro.
We’re holding an event with local activists in front of Molinaro’s office on Thursday, which will draw attention from local media! Can you chip in $7 to keep our billboard running?
Rep. Molinaro is a freshman from upstate New York who has tried to position himself as a “reasonable” Republican. But virtually no one in America wants to cut Social Security and Medicare―not even Republican voters!1 That’s not reasonable―that’s doing the bidding of Wall Street donors, just like the rest of them.
President Biden called these closed-door commissions “death panels for Medicare and Social Security.”
We’re exposing Rep. Molinaro to his constituents, and he won’t be the last.
Rush a donation today!
Thank you,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
