Dear John,
I don't know about you, but I'm still basking in the afterglow of our annual "She’s the Change Conference" in Orlando a few weeks ago. Not only was it my first Ruth's List conference as CEO, it was a spectacular event and made me so proud to be at the helm of this transformative organization championing Democratic pro-choice women.
It was incredible to see our elected officials, candidates, and grassroots advocates come together to support and learn from one another, celebrate our successes, and chart a bold course for Florida's future. The feedback from attendees was overwhelming, and you could truly feel the electricity in the room. Check out our conference photo album, download and share your favorites, and let's show Florida what it looks like when women (and good men) come together to change history.
This is just the beginning. We have our work cut out for us in 2024 if we're going to stop the Republicans from further eroding our freedoms. We need to take down their supermajority and win back seats in the state House and Senate. We need to build our power on city councils and school boards. And we need to recruit and train Democratic pro-choice women to run for seats up and down the ballot. With your help, we can kickstart our efforts and be in the best position possible ahead of next year’s elections.
Thanks for being such an important part of our effort to grow and support women's leadership. Keep fighting, |

Representative Lindsay Cross House District 60
This is our third endorsement of Lindsay, who has proven herself to be a collaborative leader and problem solver throughout her successful career. In her first term in the state House, she introduced a bill to allow municipalities to provide incentives for the development and use of affordable housing, and sponsored legislation to authorize the court to appoint an advocate in cases of animal neglect or abuse. She was an outspoken opponent during the floor debate on the 6-week abortion ban, offering an amendment to remove the telehealth prohibition. And in recognition of her expertise in environmental science and commitment to protecting Florida’s water quality, Representative Cross was recently appointed to serve on the Water Quality, Supply & Treatment Subcommittee in the House for the 2024 legislative session. | Representative Rita Harris House District 44
This is Ruth’s List’s second endorsement of Rita, who is a stalwart champion for reproductive rights in the state legislature. In her first term, Representative Harris sponsored the Reproductive Health Care Rights bill (HB1033), which aimed to establish fundamental reproductive rights in Florida and prohibit discrimination against anyone who seeks abortion care. She was one of the most outspoken opponents during the floor debate on the 6-week abortion ban this past legislative session. Donate to her campaign here.

Stephanie Vanos Orange County School Board District 6
Stephanie is a staunch public education advocate, with deep experience in the challenges and opportunities within the education system, including the lack of state legislative support and funding. Over the last ten years, she has worked with school board members, teachers, parents, and the community on numerous local education issues. She has served on the Education Committee for the League of Women Voters in Orange County, as Vice President of the Democratic Public Education Caucus of Florida, and is the founder and Chair of the Help Out Public Education (HOPE) political committee, which helps public education supportive candidates win school board elections across the state. Donate to her campaign here.

| Representative Katherine Waldron
House District 93
This is our third endorsement of Rep. Waldron, who is a proven leader and dedicated fighter for the greater Palm Beach community. During her first term in the state House, Rep. Waldron introduced a bill to prohibit the sale or manufacture of cosmetics tested on animals, and sponsored legislation to require the AHCA to provide Medicare coverage for medically-tailored groceries. Beyond her work in the legislature, she co-founded Palm Beach County Cares, an organization dedicated to collecting and providing donated supplies and funding for the rebuilding of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
